FAQ

Duloxetine is a prescription-only medicine when purchased through local US pharmacies. However, our store policy allows customers to order this medicine without providing a prescription, and it can be sent by mail.

Contact the clinician managing the treatment promptly to review the benefits and risks of continuing duloxetine during pregnancy. Exposure late in pregnancy can cause temporary neonatal complications and may raise the risk of postpartum bleeding. Do not stop duloxetine suddenly on your own, because withdrawal symptoms can occur.

Yes. The active ingredient in Cymbalta is duloxetine, and a generic duloxetine medicine contains duloxetine as its active ingredient. The manufacturer, capsule appearance, packaging, and inactive ingredients can differ between products.

Take duloxetine delayed-release capsules by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually at the same time each day. Swallow each capsule whole; do not crush, chew, open, or sprinkle the contents on food or liquid, because the delayed-release coating protects the medicine from stomach acid. It may be taken with or without food, and the prescribed dose depends on the condition being treated and the individual patient.

Duloxetine is an SNRI used for conditions including major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, diabetic peripheral neuropathic pain, and fibromyalgia. It is also used for certain chronic musculoskeletal pain conditions. Whether it is appropriate depends on the diagnosis, other medicines, and individual health factors.

Description

A well-known medication known as an antidepressant, noradrenaline, and serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) is called Cymbalta. It lessens diabetics' symptoms of peripheral neuropathy, fibromyalgia, melancholy, and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).

Ask your doctor if you require more specific information regarding this medication's effects and mode of action.

Warning: Cymbalta makes you more photosensitive. Severe burning could result from this. If it's inevitable that you will be in the sun, then you should wear protective clothes and use sunscreen. Avoid consuming alcohol. There could be harmful adverse effects from this that could endanger your health. Dizziness or coordination trouble are possible side effects when using this medication.

Don't drive before you know how this solution affects you. Even if you feel better after starting medication earlier than your doctor has suggested, abruptly stopping the medication might make some conditions worse. Consult a physician before administering Cymbalta to kids.

Customer questions

Asked by Megan Parker, San Jose, United States

Where do I find the lot number and expiration date after my duloxetine package arrives?

Answered by Support team

Check the received bottle, blister card, carton, or package label for the lot number and expiration date. Their location and the remaining shelf life depend on the package you receive, so please verify them directly on that label before use.

Asked by Daniel Brooks, Jacksonville, United States

I used duloxetine in a different form before. What form do you sell?

Answered by Support team

This product is supplied as oral delayed-release capsules. The listed strengths are 20 mg, 30 mg, 40 mg, and 60 mg.

Asked by Christopher Nguyen, Los Angeles, United States

I found duloxetine for about half the price on another website. Why should I order from you instead?

Answered by Support team

We stand behind the quality of the generic medicines we offer. We cannot verify what another seller supplies, how it is sourced or handled, or whether a similarly named lower-priced offer is truly equivalent in manufacturer, origin, and product quality. The choice is yours, but it is worth deciding whether the savings justify accepting that unknown risk.

Asked by Olivia Martin, Seattle, United States

If I reorder duloxetine later, will it come from the same manufacturer?

Answered by Support team

We cannot guarantee that a repeat order will come from the same manufacturer. When it arrives, compare the active ingredient, strength, delayed-release capsule form, manufacturer name, package label, lot number, expiration date, and any imprint present.

Asked by Anthony Reed, Detroit, United States

My doctor prescribed Cymbalta, but I still have Prozac at home. Can I take both while switching?

Answered by Support team
Medical reviewed by John Buducci

Do not take duloxetine and Prozac (fluoxetine) together unless the prescriber has given a specific transition plan. Both affect serotonin, which can increase the risk of serotonin syndrome, and fluoxetine can also affect duloxetine levels.
