FAQ

Mirtazapine is a prescription medicine in the United States and requires a prescription when purchased from local pharmacies. However, our store policy allows you to order this product without a prescription and have it sent by mail.

Yes. Tell the surgeon, dentist, anesthesiologist, or procedural team that you take mirtazapine, including the dose and when you last took it. It can add to drowsiness and impaired alertness from anesthetics, sedatives, or opioid pain medicines; do not stop it on your own unless the treating clinician instructs you to do so.

The exact manufacturer for a specific order is not confirmed in advance and may vary. Check the received package label for the manufacturer, active ingredient, strength, dosage form, lot number, and expiration date.

A different color, shape, size, or imprint does not by itself mean the product is incorrect, since manufacturers and packaging may differ. Compare the active ingredient, mirtazapine, the strength, tablet form, manufacturer, package label, lot number, expiration date, and imprint when present. Do not take the tablets until the discrepancy is checked if the ingredient, strength, dosage form, seal, or condition appears wrong or compromised.

Store the tablets at 77°F; temperatures from 59°F to 86°F are permitted. Keep them in a tightly closed container and protect them from light and moisture. Keep the medicine out of reach of children and pets.

Mirtazapine is a tetracyclic antidepressant used to treat major depressive disorder in adults. It may also improve depression-related symptoms such as poor sleep or reduced appetite, but it is not appropriate for every person with these symptoms. Some other uses may be prescribed off-label by a clinician.

During pregnancy, mirtazapine requires an individual clinical assessment that weighs the risks of untreated depression against possible fetal and newborn risks. Do not abruptly stop an antidepressant after learning you are pregnant without discussing it with the prescriber. Mirtazapine passes into breast milk, so breastfeeding requires caution and monitoring of the infant for unusual sleepiness, poor feeding, or inadequate weight gain.

Mirtazapine tablets are taken by mouth, usually once daily in the evening because they can cause drowsiness. They may be taken with or without food. The prescribed dose and any dose changes should follow the treatment plan for the individual patient.

Dosage Administration Important Notes
Initial Dosage: 15 mg taken daily, preferably in the evening just before going to bed.

Approach: Remeron is typically taken orally, either with or without meals. You can drink water and swallow the whole tablet.

Regularity: To maintain consistent bloodstream levels and get the best effects, Remeron should be taken at the same time every day.
Maximum amount: 45 mg per day is often the highest amount that is advised. Avoid Alcohol: Since alcohol can raise the chance of side effects like sleepiness and dizziness, it is advised to avoid alcohol when taking Remeron. Remeron should not be stopped suddenly. To prevent withdrawal symptoms, it is important to gradually lower your dosage under medical supervision.

Modification: Your doctor may change your dosage in accordance with how you personally react to the drug.

Monitoring: In addition to monitoring your treatment, your healthcare professional may conduct regular assessments to evaluate the medication's efficacy and any possible adverse effects. Precaution: When using Remeron, you must drink multiple glasses of water daily to protect your kidneys.

Take the dosage as soon as possible if you forget to take it. Never take two doses at once if your next dose is almost due. Take one dosage at a time.

Overdosing on any medication can have detrimental effects on your health. Inform your doctor right away if you think you may have overdosed. Remeron overdoses can result in drowsiness, disorientation, rapid heartbeat, and memory loss.

Interactions

Remeron may interact with tricyclic antidepressants (such as nortriptyline, amitriptyline, moxapine, and doxepin), St. John's Wort, and benzodiazepines, which include diazepam, lorazepam, and oxazepam.
