Skin care

Skin is the largest organ of the human body. Skin covers and protects the bones, muscles, internal organs and helps regulate body temperature. Skin, hair and nails often reflect the general condition of the body and form an important part of a person’s appearance. Some of the problems of the skin, hair and nails can be managed independently at home. In many cases, you may need the help of a doctor. Doctors who specialize in skin problems, are called dermatologists. In some cases, skin problems can lead you to the cabinet of allergists.

Black dots (open comedones) – are clogged sebum pores on the skin surface.

Dermatitis (or eczema and rashes) is an inflammation of the skin, which is reflected as dry, itchy spots that look like scales. The rash may be caused by various reasons: allergies, irritations and various diseases. There are several types of dermatitis: atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis (caused by an allergic reaction to skin contact with an irritant), and seborrheic dermatitis (itching and flaking of the skin and scalp).

Dry and sensitive skin. If you have dry skin, you can often observe an irritation, peeling, and even a little itchy process. Sensitive skin reacts immediately to a number of external factors: temperature, wind, and various chemicals, etc.

Urticaria happens when a stimulus causes cells to provide histamine. Histamine, in its turn causes vasodilation. The fluid accumulates under the skin, and it produces large, red, often itchy blisters, called papules.

Scabies. When we talk about scabies on the skin, that means the small, very itchy blisters appear. The causative agent of scabies is the itch mite.

Scars. Scars are marks on the skin remaining after accidents, operations or illnesses. The formation of scar is a natural process of wound healing, when the regenerative tissue fills the damaged area. The more serious the damage, the longer the wound heals and the greater the likelihood of scarring is.

Disorders of pigmentation. Disorders of pigmentation (skin color) is the improper distribution of pigment in the skin, which can be caused by several factors.

Wrinkles. Wrinkles are one of the most visible signs of aging.

As far as you see, people with different variations of the skin should seek medical advice. Sometimes a very serious disease starts with seemingly innocent changes.

Skin diseases often not simply cause the discomfort in our lives, but also represent a phenomenon to which we should pay closer attention. After all, skin diseases represent a serious danger to the body, and even worse, if they are harbingers of serious internal ailments. So if you’ve noticed at least some abnormalities on your skin, be sure to consult a doctor. If this is the skin that covers the entire surface of the body, then contact a dermatologist, and if the scalp and hair are “sick”, there is a special doctor called trichologist to treat this problem.

After all, it is unlikely you will be able to determine the cause of the skin diseases. They are very diverse. Dermatology as a science is closely linked to venereology, allergology, endocrinology, gynecology and obstetrics, neuropathology, ophthalmology, mycology, virology, and other branches of medicine. Only an experienced doctor can make a diagnosis solely on the basis of specific laboratory tests. He will prescribe an individual an effective treatment.

One of the advices to treat the skin diseases is not to eat a allergic product, for example, if you have a rash on the skin of allergy origin. However, if the cause of the skin disease is more serious, the treatment should consist of the whole range of activities: intramuscular and intravenous injections, drip injection, laser therapy, magnetic therapy, bandaging, skin packs, medical treatment, physiotherapy etc.

It often happens that we do not pay proper attention to certain diseases of the skin. For example, the warts are almost commonplace. And if they do not grow with a tremendous speed on the surface of the body, the person almost does not mind it. But if this neoplasm on the skin of an infectious origin – it is a human papilloma virus.

To prevent contamination of skin diseases, patient must, of course, protect their immune system (the protective shield of the body) by not allowing anything pathogenic in. Weakened immune system is an open door for all kinds of viruses, as well as it cannot resist various internal diseases.

Diseases of the skin, in spite of its relative safety for the general health of the patient, can bring not only physical discomfort but also significantly reduce the quality of social life. Therefore, it is impossible to treat such diseases too carelessly, and a patient violations should consult a dermatologist with the slightest manifestations.

Causes of skin disease vary: in some cases, to cure the disease one just need to adjust his/her diet or reduce stress. A more serious problem is to conduct a comprehensive diagnosis, which indicates true provocation. Due to the fact that many diseases have similar symptoms, correct diagnosis can be made only by an experienced physician. The most common disorders are provoked by the following reasons:

  • infection
  • genetic predisposition
  • skin lesions
  • metabolic disorder

Regardless of what was caused by the disease, it is wrong to ignore the problem and hope for the regulatory functions of the body.

Common skin diseases

Eczema – non-infectious disease, which has neuro-allergic etiology and manifests itself in the form of rashes, burning and itching. The disease characterized by multiple relapses, and the causes can be both external (mechanical, chemical, and thermal factors) and internal (internal diseases, endocrine and nervous systems).

Seborrhea is a violation of the sebaceous glands, and the selection of an inferior sebum. The most commonly seen in places where the most active glands work: on the scalp, face, back and chest, and is characterized by greasy, scaling, and itching skin.

A large number of people suffer from fungal diseases of the skin (most often they hit the feet and nails). The main symptoms of yeast infections are itching, redness and swelling of the skin between the toes, as well as deformation of the nail plate.
