General Information:

Tricor is a cholesterol-lowering medication that blocks the production of cholesterol in the body. This remedy is prescribed together with a non-drug program (including diet changes) to treat cholesterol and lipid disorders.

Tricor is taken orally with a glass of water with or without food.

What should be done if I missed the dose?

  • cyclosporine (Neoral, Gengraf, Sandimmune)
  • a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin)
  • other cholesterol-lowering medicines such as simvastatin (Zocor),  lovastatin (Mevacor), fluvastatin (Lescol), pravastatin (Pravachol), cerivastatin (Baycol), atorvastatin (Lipitor)

Which side effects can I perceive from this remedy?

Serious side effects:

  • allergy like skin rash, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, hives, itching, difficulty breathing
